The competitors will be timed and this information will be used to select a Sefton team. The Sefton Primary Schools Cross Country Team will compete in two county competitions: one held in November in Sefton Park and one held in March (venue to be confirmed).
Following on from this a Merseyside team will be selected using the results from both races and this team will compete in the National Cross Country Championships, in March, at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough
Merseyside team selection and results 2022-23
Over 40 children from Sefton primary schools represented Sefton at 2 County cross country competitions.
9 children from the Sefton team were selected to run for the Merseyside team at the National Finals. The Year 6 Boys team and the Year 6 Girls team became national champions. We are very proud of our league, Sefton team and our Merseyside team and we hope even more Sefton runners get the opportunity to compete in cross country races at all levels.
